Qilin Counsel offers structured courses for adults at midlife who are thinking carefully — and without urgency — about legacy, giving, and the conversations that give both their meaning.

Thoughtful guidance for a long conversation
Structured, not prescriptive
Our courses provide frameworks and sequences, not answers. You determine the values, the intentions, and the shape of what you leave.
Hong Kong context throughout
Content reflects the legal, administrative, and cultural landscape of Hong Kong — including cross-border giving and local estate considerations.
Written output you keep
Each full-programme participant finishes with a personal legacy document — something tangible to revisit, share, and refine over the years.
Family conversation ready
We help you think through the conversations that give structured giving its meaning — with care for relationships across generations.
Paced for midlife adults
Designed for people with full lives — the pace respects your time and encourages reflection rather than completion for its own sake.
Cross-border giving support
Covers the careful considerations of supporting organisations across borders — relevant for Hong Kong families with international philanthropic interests.
Questions
Things people often ask
Do I need prior knowledge of estate planning?
No. The courses begin with the question of what legacy means to you personally, before moving to any administrative or legal dimension. No prior knowledge is assumed or required.
How are the courses delivered?
Sessions are held at our offices in Quarry Bay, with supplementary reading and reflection exercises provided between sessions. Small cohorts allow for considered discussion.
Can I take just one course, or do I need all three?
Each course stands on its own. Many participants begin with Thinking About Legacy and continue in their own time. There is no requirement to progress through all three.
Is this financial or legal advice?
No. Qilin Counsel is an educational programme. We help you think with clarity and structure about legacy and giving. Where financial or legal advice is needed, we encourage you to engage the appropriate professionals.
What is the age range of participants?
The courses are designed for adults aged 40 and above. In practice, most participants are between 45 and 70. The conversations are richer for the diversity of experience in the room.
How do I pay and when?
After your enquiry we will send enrolment details and a payment link. All fees are in Hong Kong dollars. Payment is due before the first session of each programme.
